Madame Grise
24” x 30” unframed. Oil on canvas.
“Madame Grise” is a portrait of one of my own stray cat rescues. The background represents the exterior architectural details of the building where she was found. One of the symbolic meanings of the purple Clematis is ingenuity. I can only guess the ingenuity that was required for this kitty to survive on the streets.
