“Remember the Birch Trees” features the Finnish Spitz, known as the Suomenpystykorva in Finnish. As with many breeds that have been given a job, the painting considers the Finnish Spitz’ use in hunting and tells the story of grouse hunting in the forests in Finland.
Detail 1: The balls are painted with images of a black grouse, a hazel grouse and a willow grouse.
Detail 2: The rug pattern is an interpretation of the Finnish flag.
Detail 3: The wallpaper represents the birch trees in the forests of Finland.
